Ischia is surrounded by beaches and a fantastic sea. In the area of Ischia Porto from where the sun rises you can admire fantastic sceneries and fine beaches with shallow waters; Forio is located on the west of the island and has very large beaches and the advantage of seeing the sunset straight “in the sea” giving the opportunity to enjoy the day on the beach until sunset.

Among the most beautiful beaches (but you will judge this yourself) we find:

Citara beach - Forio

very extensive consisting of both equipped beaches and free beach, with very thin sand and not too deep seabed, looking towards the mountain you can see the majestic park of Poseidon the largest thermal center on the island of Ischia, and certainly at least once in your holiday you have to visit it.

Cava dell'Isola - Forio:

Entirely free beach, visited by young people, it is considered the meeting point of daytime social life, thin sand suitable for young people.

Chiaia beach - Forio:

Family-friendly beach with very thin sand and shallow water for many meters, equipped with both equipped and free beaches.

San Francesco beach - Forio

The beach of San Francesco in Forio has a completely elegant beauty: full of excellent accommodation facilities and kissed by the sun until late in the evening on hot summer days thanks to its strategic position west of the territory, the beach extends in length for about 300 meters, allowing the splendid and relaxing walks enjoying a suggestive sea view. But the view can be enjoyed also on the hill from which the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Montevergine stands, the architectural beauty that certainly does not go unnoticed.

San Francesco beach represents a sort of lookout point in Forio: spending a whole day or a fragment of time, perhaps at sunset, is definitely a must.

San Montano beach - Lacco Ameno

Beautiful beach created in a natural basin with thin and very shallow sand for several meters, it is made even more attractive by the proximity of the renowned Negombo Thermal park, a thermal center surrounded by greenery, a very characteristic spot.

Bay of Sorgeto – Forio

Located near the hamlet of Panza, it is a real spa paradise! In fact, there are natural basins in the sea where boiling thermal water flows from underground, and mixes with sea water. This phenomenon means that it is possible to swim in the sea, in hot water and dive in all periods of the year as well as in winter.

Cartaromana beach - Ischia

The beach is small but very beautiful, the sun in August is there until about half past five and then it sets behind the mountain. To get here there is a road (via Cartaromana) you can reach by car at the end of which there are steps towards the sea. The landscape is suggestive and right in front of the beautiful Aragonese Castle of Ischia Ponte. If you want, you can also reach this beach with sea taxi shuttle services that leave from Ischia Ponte or from the port (about € 4 return)

Maronti beach - Barano

The largest beach formed by double sand and an immediately deep seabed (located south of the island). Lovely beach, there are several establishments, but also free beaches. It can be reached by taxi-boat (about € 3 each way) or alternatively by bus.

We have not listed all the beaches of the island, as already mentioned, Ischia is surrounded by beautiful beaches, but in our opinion we have chosen those to see absolutely.

Which of this do you prefer? Do you have other beaches to illustrate? Give us your opinion.
